That's a lamy safari fountain pen they're using in that picture. Very odd choice considering its almost certain to get ink on the screen, and that would be a pain to clean up.
While it's obviously too early to say and we'll know more after the device has been reviewed properly, AnyPen technology looks to be the most interesting thing about CES this year, for me as a student, at least. If it really works as well as they say, it will be revolutionary!
The AnyPen tech sounds similar to what Sony already offers on several of their smartphones, such as my Xperia Z Ultra. If its comparable, its a serviceable solution for notes but in no way a substitute for a Wacom tablet. In any case, its certainly not new technology.
Several tablets have offered it before, and it's worse than any active solutions (n-trig or wacom) of course as it doesn't offer any real control or pressure sensitivity. Samsung does Wacom in ARM-tablets and phones so there should be no real reason to avoid it if you want to build a penenabled device.
