Anand care to get involved and find out what OCZ is really doing about the major problems people are having with the Vertex 3's? BSOD's followed by the drives no longer being detected without a cold boot. OCZ claims the BSOD issue is not there problem. They have a million workarounds that really do not fix the problem. Also the drives are physically over sized causing them not to fit in several laptops. I have a 120 gig Vertex 3 MI and have tried every workaround and still get a BSOD caused by the drive dropping out. Maybe your pull can get something done!
Yes, please do! I posted some info on the problem at the OCZForums only to have the thread deleted, and when I questioned the motives of doing so they simply banned my user ID so I can't post.
OCZ is quick to claim they have wonderful support in the forum - which is true as all the problems get covered up.
I fully (but politely) confronted them about these issues with the past SandForce drives. They didn't do anything for me, but at least they let my posts stand as a warning to others.
The support folks kept repeating the party line that surely the next firmware version would fix these problems. One year later and folks are still waiting for a fix on the SF 1200 series drives...
I hope that Anand and company take note of this when they make SSD recommendations.

Why bother doing great review of the Vertex 3 that thousands of users have problem with. I do believe that Anand is very close to OCZ , but this is just silly. :-( no cred
I haven't been keeping up with these things but BSODing drives of such a high price would be a major fuckup.
I don't have a V3 but from past experiences with V2 wouldn't be surpised if they got their dimensions wrong again (I struggled screwing those things in the sleds but at least they would go in sans a screw or 2).

While OCZ will tell you how hard they are pushing SandForce to fix the issue, at the end of the day they will not offer any help to consumers. If it doesn't work in my computer or laptop (while all other competing drives do) you have no choice but to take it back as a defective product. Period.
Further, every time OCZ finds a laptop or motherboard combination that is incompatible, they should disclose this on their website. That would be honest. Telling customers to wait for the mythical firmware version that will supposedly fix all issues, for all customers, does not count as customer service. It's been a year since the Vertex 2 launched and OCZ will only replace drives with like models that have the same issue.

I believe that "Enterprise" in this case refers to "pricing" :)
