Sucks no LTE. Android tablets are pretty rough IMO without cellular. Pretty nice tablet for the price though!

If you need Internet on the tablet outside, there is always WiFi hotspot on the phone.

But few people haul their 10" tablets with them outside these days in the age of 6"+ phones.

This is super exciting! I've been hard up for a tablet to replace my aging Shield K1. Anyone know what the MediaTek MT8176's decode limits are? Is 10-bit HEVC possible on it?

Something that I don't get is why nowadays the tablets have so low cpu/gpu specs if you compare with premium smartphones? Shouldnt be other way around?

Yeah, slow CPU and flash are sad. It would be fine if it had something like 1 3GHz A76 and 8 1.8-2GHz A55s. Even 32GB of flash would be fine if it is the fastest available vs 64GB of slowest eMMC - you can always have your slow flash on SD card (UHS-III or SD Express would be nice, but even UHS-II is OKish for secondary storage).

Price I think... If this would have Snapdragon 845 or similar, it would cost 800-1000$ or even more... Now it is about 250$. A big difference. And Ipad pro mostly does hold the highend tablet situation quite easily in its hands...

Fair enough. I would still fancy a premium tablet even tho I have to pay good money. Assuming Android would finally care doing optimised apps and games for Android tablets.

Not really because most are used just for media consumption purposes or light web browsing. There aren't many games optimized for tablets in the Android space. While the upcoming Galaxy S4 tablet is nice, it's way OP for what most would use it for.

Also the screen size, 9" would've been better like the old Galaxy Tab S 8.4" 2560x1600.

Would love seeing premium tablets again as alternative of laptops. Having only iPad Pro as high specs tablet in the market is not a good thing.

The tablets with styluses are exceptions because art apps really do need more powerful processors. You can't expect too much from such small devices (and on such small displays art isn't that fun to do), but faster SoCs and more RAM are always welcome. Gotta feed that layer and brush addiction somehow.

If this somehow has the same 2.5K SAMOLED panel as the Tab S4 then I'll probably get it. S4 is too expensive and my Tab S 10.5 is due for an upgrade.

I just want to see one with a form of wireless charging, and to come with a decent stand.
I literally still use my HP TouchPad (with Android installed) because nothing else is actually convenient. If I had to plug it in or lay it flat on a Qi charger, it would NEVER get any use. As it is, it stands on the Touchstone charger and displays the time until I grab it, use it for a moment, and then toss it back on the stand.
