It’s a common way to get a cheap laugh: mention that China doesn’t care about IP infringement and that a lot of fake products exist. There are a good number of people willing to copy just about anything if it gives them a way to make a quick Yuan. So color me unsurprised to find a fake MacBook Air at one of the small booths hidden in the corner.
The fact that it was presented at the front of a moulding company booth makes it all the more amusing. This wasn’t a system, but a picture of an iOS desktop was plastered on the ‘screen’. Someone should tell these guys about what the MacBook chassis color actually is, and how the logo isn’t fully underlined.
They also got a bit agitated when I started taking pictures.

Are you trolling us or did you really fail to realize this is just a dummy they put on the their products (based on the background it appears the company is actually selling tables) to show case?jeremyshaw - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
Who knows?Though I wouldn't put it beyond Apple to consider the Macbook Air design "protected IP," despite being a generic laptop profile nowadays.

That being said, actually putting "Macbook Air" on the model isn't going to help them.sor - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
They do this in the US too, use prop electronics. The difference is those props are not actually branded, just generic plastic boxes that roughly resemble a laptop or stereo.I don’t really think this is a big deal, not nearly as much as an operational fake MacBook. It still goes to the point though that some parts of the world don’t really care about copyrights, trademarks, etc.

You have no sense of humor. He saw something funny that he could justify putting a micro-article up about.Makaveli - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
